I know I’ve already made a post about making money online with YouTube for teens but don’t get me wrong, this post is different. In today’s post, we’re gonna look at a few different ideas on how to set up and maintain a good YouTube channel that will ensure a decent number of views as well as multiple methods of making money off it, apart from the already obvious YouTube Monetization program.

Let’s get to it then !

I. What Makes A Successful YouTube Channel ?

Pretty much

To answer that question, let’s go back one step and take a closer look at what a YouTube Channel is.

YouTube is a social media website that distribute videos. Each video belongs to a user – the person that upload them – and each user has a channel, like a hub for all of their videos.

Other people can subscribe to channels that they like and will get noticed when a new video of that channel is uploaded.

On the other hand, a YouTube channel can opt-in for the Monetization program, including ads in videos of the channel selected by its owner. Most of the time, the more views a channel has ( or to be precise the views of the videos with ads ) the more money they’ll make. That’s why channel owners always try their best to amass lots of subscribers. People would only subscribe to your channel if they want to be notified about new videos and for each new video, you in turn will earn some money. The more subscribers a channel has, the more views it has. So more money.

But here’s something to keep in mind: The number of views is from videos so you’ll need to have a large amount of videos to actually gain more views. A channel with 1 million subscribers won’t do much if it only has 1 video. But a channel with 25000 subscribers and 200 videos speaks a different story. With so many videos, there’s more chances to gain more subscribers and each of those subscribers will then later watch more of your videos.

In short, the number of money a YouTube channel makes is relative to the number of subscribers and the number of videos.

But wait!! What about outside of Monetization ? There are many channels out there making tons of money without relying on YouTube’s own Monetization Platform. Get ready teens. This is one of the most important aspect of earning income online that you’ll hear me repeat  for many times in the future.

Branding.

If you’ve amassed a huge number of subscribers, chances are your contents will be loved and trusted by many people. More importantly, they reach more and more people. Why important ? Simply because many companies and business within the same niche want such good opportunities there, all the audience to promote their own line of products. But guess what, those subscribers are yours, not them. They need your help. You will be their promising bridge in order to reach out to your subscribers.  For sure, in marketing, any kind of help rarely is free.

If I have to say it, branding is king on YouTube, just look at his subscriber count and the sponsor links next to the video

So what it’ll be is a kind of sponsorship. They’ll pay you to promote their products with your videos. Other than direct sponsor like that, you can also include affiliate links in your videos in order to maximize your income.

Hence, a successful YouTube channel needs to fit into these criteria:

  • A great number of subscribers
  • A large amount videos
  • A huge number of views
  • Make money from multiple sources
  • Establish a good brand

Now on the next part, we’ll check out the various criteria in details.

I’m starting to like these bite-size post, short but contains rather lots of info. See ya next time !

I want to help all teenagers earn pocket-money and more so I founded Mmo4teen. When I’m not writing or working on any projects, you can find me jamming my guitar or lifting at the gym.
